With a heavy heart, it saddens us to inform you all that Collaborations Festival will not be happening this year. We have done absolutely everything that we can to make this happen, but unfortunately our application was declined.

This was due to a number of reasons, but in the end, the main reason was the stats from the road side policing in 2017.

The statistics and report in the Cairns Post is why we lost the site at Sugarbag Station. The Henry family were copping backlash from the community and would have lost business if they continued to host our festival on their property. Even though it would have been nice to find out earlier that we could no longer use the site, we completely understand why they have made this decision.

At this point Collaborations Festival is not welcome in the shire  💔 We are going to do our best to change that. We can do all the paperwork and convincing we can to get the permits in place for 2019 and we could co-create a freakin’ AMAZING festival! HOWEVER, ultimately, the FUTURE of the festival lies in the hands of our beloved community.

Please keep in mind that it is a drug free event and our focus is on bringing people together to nourish and inspire through music, dance, art and the like! Roadside policing is there to keep the roads safe and it is the norm so you should be used to it by now. If you want to see Collaborations happen we NEED to change those statistics. We need to come together as a community, step up and show them how freakin’ beautiful and inspiring our community really is. YOU need to show them that you really want Collaborations Festival to continue, and the only way to do that is to bring the stats down to ZERO!

Please think about the effect that your actions has on the wider community. Not just for Collaborations, but for all Festivals around Australia. As most of you would know that our scene is under a lot of scrutiny and we have the power to change that!

We would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for all the support over the years. It can be hard organizing a festival, especially with a little family now. But, we do it because we love our community and believe in what we are doing as we’ve seen firsthand the positive effect these types of events have. The stories we hear from peoples experiences fills our heart with so much joy and gives us the inspiration to keep going  <3 We feel so supported and we know that, as a community we have the power to create change, and create change we will!!

So much love and gratitude to you all  💜
